ORLG Europe Tour's First Anniversary

These days the concerts the Omar Rordriguez Lopez Group played in Europe last year have their first anniversary. As a little contribution i uploaded two videos on youtube. One from the Hamburg show - Victimas Del Cielo feat. the wonderfull Ximena Sarinana. The other video is Dyna Sark Arches from Cologne. It's a photo slideshow including pictures from Cologne of ORLG and Zechs Marquise.

I recently encountered some serious problems with almost all the shows of the europe tour I've been working on in the past. It almost looks like a lot of progress i made a few month ago is lost and i have to start over again. Shit. (But anyways I'm more motivated these days than I've been during the last few months...)

Notes:
Big thanks to ArdNassac and aspirin44 for recording video. All recordings are from the balcony, but from different angles. Crowd banter can be heard in-between songs and during quiet parts. The very few moments without video footage are bridged with sequences in slow motion.

This DVD offers the complete show featuring the video footage by ArdNassac (16:9), complemented by the video material aspirin44 and I recorded. And being a mixed-angle-DVD, you have the opportunity to choose a second angle for certain tracks to watch the material of those other cams (4:3). I hope you all enjoy this DVD, this project was quite an instructive experience for me. So please feel free to contact me for any feedback or comment.

This was the 12th gig of The Mars Volta's European tour in June/July 2009 introducing their album Octahedron, this time with only 6 people on stage. Great performance of the band, especially their then drummer Thomas Pridgen amazes with cool drum variations, e.g. during Halo and Cygnus. Cedric addresses the crowd several times, he seemed to be comfortable with the way the audience responded. This was the happiest I've ever seen them on stage, they were totally enjoying themselves.

Other things to take note of: groovy jam in Cygnus, a 30 second pause before Con Safo with the crowd cheering, Cedric quoted the Misfits' 'Bullet'; exciting guitar solo during Viscera; fabulous breakdown in Luciforms, no cover song this time.

I'm a little bit sad about the lack of feedback from you people. People download the shows every day using this website and noone leaves comments. I would like to know what you people think about the DVDs, what you like and what you dislike, your wishes etc. The comment function should be enabled for everyone, you don't need to register or anything. Plus, if you like and enjoy my work, you could support me by making a small donation through PayPal. The equipment for video-recording is pretty expensive, not to mention the costs for the domain and the energy that is needed for all-night-long seeding sessions. So, please give me some feedback so I don't have to feel so alone and lost in the world wide web :)

small update

hello everyone,
just a small update.

i recently uploaded a new video to youtube.

This is a small teaser for an old DVD-project for The Temporal Lobe I just found on my harddrive. The full DVD will come anytime in the future. I decided to make this DVD because Dynamite Chavez' videos got me into TMV back in 2003. I want to do the video & the show justice by adding a better audio source (taper unknown). The DVD will include Dynamite Chavez' videos & another video source so it will have two angles.

Some time ago i also made a concert film of DAMO SUZUKI and THE WHOLE. It's a great psychodelic-rock show with SBD-Audio and very good video-quality. I recommend it for every fan of DAMO/CAN and all sorts of psychodelic music.

The (new) Temporal Lobe

Welcome to the Temporal Lobe,
it's been a while since i supported and updated the temporal lobe. During the last month many users sent emails because they weren't able to log-in any longer. Now i have a bit of time to take care - and just decided to use a blog instead of a message board.
I think it's better that way because it's easier for me to handle. And you guys haven't used the board to discuss anyway...

During the next days i will put the old DVDs (Omar 2005, Mars Volta 2008) here and give you some info about new projects.
